Battery storage and charging hubs, brought together by Ovia Group

Electrifying a fleet or a site usually runs into the grid connection first. Ovia Group works out what the connection can carry, what a battery adds, and who needs to be at the table to build it.

What you get

Grid capacity assessment

What the connection can carry today, and what more would take, worked through with the distribution network operator (DNO).

Battery energy storage (BESS) business case

A battery sized to the site, with revenue from peak reduction, flexibility services and trading tested against published market benchmarks.

Charging hub feasibility

Demand, power and layout for depots, logistics parks and strategic sites, from rapid charging to HGV scale.

Solar PV and storage together

On-site solar PV paired with battery storage where the site suits it.

Project arrangement

The landowner, network operator and delivery partners brought into one deliverable project.

Our role

On larger sites Ovia Group acts as arranger. We find the site, test the grid, shape the commercial structure and bring the right parties together. Each project is built to be owned and operated for the long term.

Who we work with

Landowners and site owners

Land or grid headroom that could host storage or charging.

Fleet and logistics operators

Sites where the connection cannot supply the charging the fleet needs.

Fleet electrification

Public bodies

Estates and strategic sites where storage or charging supports wider plans.

Delivery partners

Installers, manufacturers and operators looking for well-prepared projects.

The evidence we work from

  • Local demand is set to double. SP Energy Networks forecasts that peak demand on the network serving Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales is likely to double by 2050. SP Energy Networks DFES 2026
  • Britain needs more than three times the batteries. The government’s Clean Power 2030 plan calls for 23 to 27 GW of battery storage by 2030. The fleet stood at 7.2 GW in early 2026. Clean Power 2030 Action Plan and Modo Energy
  • The connection is the scarce asset. NESO’s reform cut the grid connection queue from over 700 GW to 283 GW, with battery places now allocated to 2035. NESO
  • Fleets want power they cannot get. More than 80% of operators surveyed by Logistics UK cannot install chargers of sufficient capacity at their own sites. Motor Transport
  • Storage costs are falling fast. BloombergNEF’s 2025 survey found battery pack prices for stationary storage fell 45% in a year. BloombergNEF
